Dadaism

"A Dadaist is someone who loves live in all its unencompassable forms and who knows and says: Life is not just here, but da, da (there,there)!"____________Johannes Baader

My Opinion
Dadaism not so much an art form, as it is a cultural movement, he will not be limited to painting in the form of arts, literature, poetry, drama and art theory, and through the works of traditional art to express anti-war and political against the thought.

Dadaism pay more attention to the art of thinking, the idea of a work of art is more important than the visual effects, and works of art by some of the changes and re-writing to express their ideas.

My Dadaism

The painting from the direction of view, is not considered dada art reflects, as it only represents the reorganization of the arts, but the whole picture is still harmony, not conflict of meaning.

Here is my remake dada art, some of the impossible to appear in reality, expressed in art, more in line with the theme of art dada.

About Dadaism Form WIKI
Dadaism
(1916-1924) Dadaism or Dada is a post-World War I cultural movement in visual art as well as literature (mainly poetry), theater and graphic design. The movement was, among other things, a protest against the barbarism of the War and what Dadaists believed was an oppressive intellectual rigidity in both art and everyday society; its works were characterized by a deliberate irrationality and the rejection of the prevailing standards of art. It influenced later movements including Surrealism.

According to its proponents, Dada was not art; it was anti-art. For everything that art stood for, Dada was to represent the opposite. Where art was concerned with aesthetics, Dada ignored them. If art is to have at least an implicit or latent message, Dada strives to have no meaning--interpretation of Dada is dependent entirely on the viewer. If art is to appeal to sensibilities, Dada offends. Perhaps it is then ironic that Dada is an influential movement in Modern art. Dada became a commentary on art and the world, thus becoming art itself.

The artists of the Dada movement had become disillusioned by art, art history and history in general. Many of them were veterans of World War I and had grown cynical of humanity after seeing what men were capable of doing to each other on the battlefields of Europe. Thus they became attracted to a nihilistic view of the world (they thought that nothing mankind had achieved was worthwhile, not even art), and created art in which chance and randomness formed the basis of creation. The basis of Dada is nonsense. With the order of the world destroyed by World War I, Dada was a way to express the confusion that was felt by many people as their world was turned upside down.

Cubism

My Opinion
In my opinion, Cubism is broken down into different graphic object, then reassembled manifestations.

Creative artists to break the conventional way, the more the subjective feelings to a viewer. From the works of colors, graphics portfolio, viewer feel more emotion in the creative process of artists. More modern works, it is mixed use of
different painting techniques and performance practices, not only stay in a more uniform color of the traditional painting.

Here is a good example of this piece, the artist did not use the traditional approach to the performance of painting, but the use of life through subtle modifications of material to show another sense.

About Cubism Form WIKI

Cubism was a 20th century avant-garde art movement, pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, that revolutionized European painting and sculpture, and inspired related movements in music and literature. The first branch of cubism, known as Analytic Cubism, was both radical and influential as a short but highly significant art movement between 1907 and 1911 in France. In its second phase, Synthetic Cubism, the movement spread and remained vital until around 1919, when the Surrealist movement gained popularity.

In cubist artworks, objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form—instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create the shallow ambiguous space, one of cubism's distinct characteristics.

Angles

My Opinion

I think that is the viewer and the observed angles between objects, observing and being observed that the balance of power between objects.
Vertical composition can fully reveal the differences in the distribution rights will be observed the object viewer, and demonstrated the power of the poor, high angles of, viewer's position is more power; low angles in, viewer in a weak position.

Horizontal Angles more of a performance of the details of the observed object, viewer from different directions to observe the same objects, all-round understanding of the observed objects.

Horizontal angle of the object being observed is more impact on the viewer.

About Angles form Wiki

Textbooks of film appreciation never fail to mention camera height as an important means of expression in cinematography. A high angle, it is said, makes the subject look small and insignificant, a low angle makes it look imposing and awesome:'Low angles generally give an impression of superiority, exaltation and triumph...high angles tend to diminish the individual, to flatten him morally by reducing him to ground level, to render him as caught in an insurmountable determinism'(Martin 1068:37-8).But this leaves the viewer out of the picture.

Vertical Angles
Vertical viewing angle performance of observers is more the status, performance of power relations.

Horizontal Angles
Frontal:Involved-Direct

More of a positive angle viewer and observed interaction between objects, Direct Gaze is one of the most intense relationship of mutual influence.

Oblique:Detached-Indirect

Although this picture is a positive view, but the sight of the characters in the picture is higher than the viewer, so this picture is an attempt to influence the performance of the audience's way of life.

SYMBOLISM

Symbolism Movement
My Opinion

1885-1910

Personally, I think, symbolism movement is to give practical meaning in the big picture in a simple kind of expression. Some kind of real life by the spirit of the definition, summarized the basis of its features to simplify the graphics. In my opinion, this movement has in the classical sense of mystery, usually think of astrology and the like astrology methods. In the current era of goods, symbolism movement of goods is still the extensive use of logo, graphics will be simplified into the spirit of enterprise to promote products.

Google About Symbolism
Symbolism was largely a reaction against naturalism and realism, anti-idealistic movements which attempted to capture reality in its gritty particularity, and to elevate the humble and the ordinary over the ideal. These movements invited a reaction in favour of spirituality, the imagination, and dreams; the path to symbolism began with that reaction.[1] Some writers, such as Joris-Karl Huysmans, began as naturalists before moving in the direction of symbolism; for Huysmans, this change reflected his awakening interest in religion and spirituality. On the other hand, certain of the characteristic subjects of the decadents reflect naturalist interest in sexuality and taboo subjects, but in their case this was mixed with a stiff dose of Byronic romanticism and the world-weariness characteristic of the fin de siècle.

My favourite piece of art
My favorite piece of art is Han Jinpeng the MonaLisa.
Although it has been imitated many MonaLisa's works appeared, but he is different from the general approach to the performance of his mind MonaLisa, so I feel fresh and new. He will disguise himself Monalisa, Monalisa after the rain changes to look into a short recording film.

At first, I am concerned that he will be painting the screen only use of technology into animation, when the 1 minute, I found out that his ideas are interesting, behind each painting has some interesting experiences. I like this particular technique of expression, people remember.

Your least favourite piece of art

My least favourite piece of art should be ChenFei paintings. Although he used a lot on the screen soft warm, but the picture depicts the anthropomorphic image, made me feel very uncomfortable.

Which the pursuit of money and material consumption, but also got me thinking after a very heavy feeling subject, feel the artist has a negative understanding of the consumer.

My felt while I were at the White Rabbit Collection
When I walked into the White Rabbit Collection, I feel like back to his childhood in China, especially the sale of small art galleries, elegant style and simple household items and small toys are linked to childhood memories, I have kinds of nostalgic feelings.

Gaze
  • Indirect Gaze
  • Direct Gaze

My Opinion:

I think Gaze is a relationship between viewer and the demand.

When the relationship between viewer and demand be changed, the viewer can got different feeling.
we can view a gaze by different way, even we view the same thing, still can got different feeling.

About Gaze from WIKI:

The gaze is characterised by who is the gazer (viewer):

* The spectator's gaze: that of the spectator viewing the text, i.e. the reader(s) of the text.
* The Intra-diegetic gaze: in a text, a character gazes upon an object or another character in the text.
* The Extra-diegetic gaze: a textual character consciously addresses (looks at) the viewer, e.g. in dramaturgy, an aside to the audience; in cinema, acknowledgement of the fourth wall, the viewer.
* The camera's gaze: is the film director's gaze.
* The editorial gaze: emphasizes a textual aspect, e.g. a photograph, its cropping and caption direct the reader(s) to a specific person, place, or object in the text.

Theorists Gunther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen posit that the gaze is a relationship, between offering and demanding a gaze: the indirect gaze is the spectator's offer, wherein the spectator initiates viewing the subject, who is unaware of being viewed; the direct gaze is the subject's demand to be viewed.

My Impressionist

Summer:

I use Photoshop CS5 to change the original image to Impressionist style panting.
First I use Sprayed Strokes to make brush style, and I use
Brightness/Contrast to make it more light.

Winter:

I use Photoshop CS5 to change the original image to Impressionist style panting.
This time I use Paint Daubs to make brush style, and I also use Brightness/Contrast to make it more light. At the last step, I use Vibrance to change the whole panting, make it more colorful.

We can find the different between this two ways. In the summer panting, the brush more use the point style, but the winter panting,we can feel the brush more smooth than before.

Impressionism Movement

My Opinion
Impressionist movement is different from the previous theme of Renaissance paintings, impressionist movement more attention to changes in color and light effect. Compared to the main themes of Renaissance religious paintings, impressionist chose the theme of life.

Impressionist paintings, color is relatively clear, bright colors, the viewer can feel the artist to paint full time effect caused by light.

Personally, I think, relatively free brushwork Impressionist movement, and there is no excessive rules, the focus is still the color changes, small changes through the entire color three-dimensional images, have to say is a kind of miracle.

About White Rabbit | White Rabbit Gallery

About White Rabbit

The White Rabbit Collection is one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of contemporary Chinese art. Founded by Kerr and Judith Neilson, it focuses on works produced after 2000.

The origins of the Collection go back to the late 1990s, when Judith Neilson engaged Wang Zhiyuan, a Chinese artist then living in Sydney, as her art tutor. He introduced her to the astonishing explosion of creativity taking place in China in the wake of the “Opening Up” that had begun in 1989. Mrs Neilson began buying works, but soon ran out of space to hang them. She and her husband then decided to open a gallery that would make the exciting world of contemporary Chinese art available to all Australians.

The White Rabbit Gallery, a specially converted knitting factory near Sydney’s Central Station, has four floors of exhibition space as well as a theatrette, a library and a teahouse. Only a fraction of the Collection is on show at any time. The entire contents of the gallery are rehung twice a year.

My opinion

And traditional Chinese art form compared to the situation the White Rabbit is more diverse art galleries. He broke the traditional art form, using a more diversified approach to the performance artist's ideas. And by Western culture's image, the artist through the use of different materials will be more abstract artistic concepts.

Most artists are from China, but have a wide variety of art forms. They will be inspired by traditional Chinese art form through a more interesting show up for the world.

While some people looked very uncomfortable work, but have to admit, these works really enthralled the audience's attention.

Leonardo da Vinci

Producer: Leonardo da vinci(1412-1519)

Represented Participants: The painting by a 45 ° angle medium shot to show the side characters, and the light from the right into the painting, the whole perspective to focus people's face.

Viewer: Warm the whole picture is soft, more emphasis on the characters facial expressions, giving the feeling of gentle kind pure.

The shadow of the left part, you can vaguely see the shape of the wings, reminiscent of the character set to angels, and people associated with soft facial expressions.

For me personally, in the process of viewing this painting, I will feel relax, calmer and serenity.
